Cassius Clay
vintage autograph

A vintage autograph signed by Cassius Clay in black ballpoint ink... A rare form, signed as champ in 1964, Clay would shortly change his name to Muhammad Ali after winning the world title from Sonny Liston... The inscription will mat out making it perfect for framing!!

"...If you are black you don't have your name. Chinese got Chinese names. If I say Mr. Chang-Chung, you know he's a Chinese. If I say he is Mr. Castro, you know he is a Cuban. If I say here comes Mr. Torres, you know he is a Puerto Rican. If I say here comes Mr. Lumumba, you know he's an African. You can identify people from their names. If I say here comes Mr. Pierre, you know he is a Frenchman. If I say here comes Mr. Weinstein or Mr. Goldberg, you know he is a jew. If I say here comes Mr. Cole or Mr. Washington or Mr. Clay, you don't know what color he is 'til you see him. You don't know if he is black or white because all black people in America were named after white people, and Cassius Clay was a white man in Kentucky long ago."
