Heavyweight champ 1937-1949... A very rare Joe Louis typed letter signed and dated 10/28/35... Great content thanking a friend for a wedding gift and talks about trying to land a title shot with heavyweight champ Jimmy Braddock... Richly signed in black fountain pen ink... Wire photo on left is Louis shaking hands with Braddock dated 9/29/35... Wire photo on right shows Louis walking down a Harlem street with his new bride, the former Marva Trotter dated 9/25/35... A perfectly tied in piece, all items dated within a month and a few days of each other... Scan was unkind to letter giving the lettering a blurry or colored look but is nicely typed in black ink on his personal off-white stationary... Letter had a 1/4" tear at one of the folds which has been matted out... Matting was brought up over blank area at bottom for better presentation... Photos are very clear in person and condition is excellent... Measures 15 x 28.5"... Quality matted & framed... Very attractive in person
