Archie Moore
autographed letter signed

World light heavyweight champion Archie Moore has nicely penned this letter in blue fountain pen ink... Signed and dated September 11, 1955 just nine days before his challenge of Rocky Marciano's heavyweight title... Beautifully illustrated Marciano-Moore stationary from the training headquarters of Archie Moore in North Adams, Massachusetts... The original illustrated mailing envelope in the hand of Moore is also included!!

I liked his style in the ring and especially out of it. I remembered the way Archie gained a title shot from Marciano by using colorful gimmicks that forced Rocky to respond. He had run ads in newspapers with a picture of Marciano in convict clothes and a headline that read: "One hundred thousand dollar reward for anybody who can get Marciano into a ring with Sheriff Archie Moore."
