FIGHT FACT
On June 12, 1930, Germany's Max Schmeling beat Jack Sharkey to become the first and only heavyweight to win the world championship on a foul. This made Maxmillian Adolph Otto Seigfried Schmeling the first continental European to hold the heavyweight title. Max was also the first to do what no other fighter had yet accomplished-he knocked out the seemingly impregnable Joe Louis.
