FROM THE BOOKS

Mickey walker always had a smirk on his Irish kisser when he climbed through the ropes, and it took some doing to wipe it off. Some boxers box; some sluggers slug; Mickey wanted total war with no holds barred, and many of his fights resembled one-man riots. He simply thrived on punishment, soaking up punches like the imperturbable Bat Nelson or hooking for dear life as long as he or his opponent could stand. Mickey loved a bloodbath, preferably his own and his opponent's mixed. And when heads began to butt and elbows flail, sure he was the happiest man alive!
